Painted Mason Jars

This project was cute and fun. I was trying to get a different outcome, but the result was still good. What's great about mason jars is that you can use them for anything. So when my siblings and mom was asking what I was going to use them for, I just told them I could use them for whatever I wanted!
I took more tedious steps then I need to, but it do any harm to my jars.

Supplies Needed:
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Glue
  • Paint Brushes
  • Glitter
First, I mixed my acrylic paint with Elmer's Glue and water. The reason why I used glue because I wanted to make tinted jars, but it didn't come out like that. Then I poured the paint into the jar to paint the inside of it (1). I didn't need a paint brush because I just tilted the jar until the paint covered the entire inside (2).

The more glue and water that I used, the less paint that I wasted. Once I painted the inside completely, I tried to extract as much dripping paint as much as possible. I poured most of the paint into the container that I used. I flipped the jars over onto newspaper to remove most of the dripping paint (3).

While those dried, I painted the tops of the jars with grey paint and layered the paint with glue and glitter. I put a transparent

Optional Steps:

I put my jars right side up and placed them on a cookie sheet. I set my oven to the lowest temperature so my jars would dry faster. I had them in there for about 15-20 minutes and they were completely dry when I took them out.

Or you can just dry them overnight!

The end result:
